Tilt & turn windows.
Tilt & turn is the most common style across European homes, and it does two things from one handle. Turn it one way and the top of the window tilts inwards for steady, secure airflow. Turn it the other way and the whole window swings in like a door.
That inward swing makes them simple to clean from inside — useful for upper storeys where you can't reach the outside — and when it's closed, multi-point locking pulls it tight against the seals.
